Intelli-Check Announces Two New Software Products ID-TRAVELER and IDENTITY-PASS

WOODBURY, N.Y. --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 9, 2004 -- Both Will Facilitate In-Person Proofing That Complies with the Credentialing Requirements of Presidential Directive HSPD-12 and the U.S. Patriot Act

Intelli-Check, Inc. (AMEX:IDN), a leader in advanced identification-document-verification systems, announces the development of its ID-TRAVELER(TM) and IDENTITY-PASS(TM) software products for "in-person proofing." The company's latest offerings are aimed at meeting the credentialing requirements of Presidential Directive HSPD-12 to help prevent the use of false IDs and identity theft to obtain legitimate government IDs. These systems are also designed to assist financial institutions in complying with the Patriot Act, which requires them to verify the identity of any person seeking to open an account as well as to maintain records of the information used to verify a person's identity, including name, address, and other identifying information. In addition, they have applications in a variety of retail markets for proof of identity in employment screening and for issuance of store credit cards.

"We believe that identity theft and the use of fake IDs is a growing problem nationwide, costing the U.S. economy, according to FTC estimates, $53 billion every year. These fake IDs are also used to support terrorist activities," said Frank Mandelbaum, chairman and chief executive officer of Intelli-Check. "Our new ID-TRAVELER software is designed to verify the validity of driver licenses, state-issued IDs, military IDs, passports, visas and border-crossing cards by reading, analyzing and verifying the encoded data contained in magnetic stripes, barcodes, smart chips or the machine readable zone (MRZ) on these documents. When there is a requirement that a person present two forms of government-issued IDs as proof of identity, it is capable of electronically matching the encoding of similar fields on any two of these documents in seconds. Should a match not occur, it is capable of highlighting any anomalies that exist between the presented documents. ID-TRAVELER is also available with a question-generator option and image capture."

Mr. Mandelbaum continued, "IDENTITY-PASS offers all the benefits of the Company's patented ID-CHECK technology plus the additional capability for proving one's claimed identity. The IDENTITY-PASS software first verifies that the presented identification document is a legally issued document by instantly reading, analyzing, and verifying the encoded data contained in magnetic stripes, barcodes, or smart chips on these documents to determine if the format is valid. The second step provides assurance that the person presenting the ID is, in fact, who he or she claims to be. The question generator automatically poses several multiple-choice questions, such as, 'which of these addresses have you lived at in the past?' or, 'in which state was your social security card issued?' Because the queries are random and specific to that person, it is highly unlikely that anyone other than the actual person would be able to answer them all correctly. The software also has the capability to link and store images of the documents presented for verification so that they may be retrieved when it is necessary to prove that the proper documents were utilized in the in-person proofing process."

IDENTITY-PASS and ID-TRAVELER can also seamlessly check the name and identification against terrorist or other watch lists. Once the validation process is complete, the systems are designed to store all relevant data to prove that the in-person proofing process took place as well as to comply with the requirements of the Patriot Act. Intelli-Check has designed these systems to be inherently flexible to allow customers to add various biometric capabilities and create custom badges using the services offered today by a number of the company's strategic partners.
