ARC Wireless Increases Patent Count to 11 by Adding Freedom Antenna
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. --(Business Wire)-- May 26, 2004 -- ARC Wireless Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:ARCS) announced today that it has received a Notice of Allowability from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its Ultra-Broadband Thin Planar Antenna technology.
With the issuance of this patent application, the Company will be granted protection for antenna designs, including its Freedom Antenna(R), which provide a broadband frequency range of 800 MHz to 3 GHz.
The use of one antenna for multiple frequencies and applications is an important development for communications solutions. Since 1990, the Company's patents have demonstrated breakthroughs in the manufacturing of high volume wireless antenna solutions. The technology covered by the new patent allows for a wide range of applications not only because of its broad bandwidth, but because the antennas designed with this patent can be very lightweight, thin and easy to install.
"When the Freedom Antenna(R) concept was first conceived, the challenge was to invent a single antenna solution that would cover existing as well as future frequency requirements," stated Steven C. Olson, Chief Technology Officer. "This approval validates the Company's vision for wireless solutions and technology leadership, reflects the Company's history of development and will help protect our intellectual property," Mr. Olson added.
ARC Wireless' Freedom Antenna(R), which is the first product using the new patent, is a consumer product which is designed to improve the performance of cellular, PCS and Wi-Fi devices. As many consumers are replacing their home phones with cell phones, the demand for the Freedom Antenna(R) has increased in the last six months.
"We have always recognized the growing consumer need for improved cellular device performance within homes, vehicles and offices," stated Randall P. Marx, Chief Executive Officer. "The collective effort on this product from our engineering and product development staff has been tremendous and our sales success thus far with the Freedom Antenna has clearly indicated that there is a significant need for this new ultrabroadband technology."
