Bridgewater Systems Names Ed Ogonek President, CEO; Brings Significant Executive, OSS and Carrier Experience to Firm That Enables Service Providers' IP Data Services
OTTAWA --(Business Wire)-- May 26, 2004 -- Bridgewater Systems(TM), a provider of dynamic IP and data service fulfillment and assurance solutions, today announced that Ed Ogonek has joined the company in the role of president and CEO. Ogonek also becomes a director on the Bridgewater Systems board.
With more than 20 years of experience in the networking industry, Ogonek has a reputation for providing dynamic leadership and delivering business excellence. He most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of Metro and Enterprise Solutions for CIENA. Prior to CIENA, he was president and chief executive officer of Akara Corporation, which was acquired by CIENA in August 2003. Ogonek's prior experience includes key executive and senior management positions at Newbridge, Alcatel, British Telecom and Bellcore. He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from John Carroll University and a master's degree in operations research from Case Western Reserve.
