City of Toledo Offers New Electronic Tax Payment Options
STAMFORD, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- July 30, 2004 -- Official Payments Corp.(R), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tier Technologies, Inc., today announced that citizens of Toledo, Ohio, can now make credit and debit card payments for income, estimated and withholding taxes by visiting www.officialpayments.com, or by calling 1-800-2PAY-TAX(SM).
City of Toledo taxpayers may, for the first time, make income, estimated and withholding tax payments electronically by using a VISA(R), American Express(R), Discover(R) or MasterCard(R). The system is now accepting estimated withholding tax payments that are due July 31st. As July 31st falls on a Saturday this year, these payments will be accepted through August 2nd, the next business day. The City of Toledo jurisdiction code required for telephone payments is 4539.
This service will provide Toledo taxpayers with a secure electronic credit and debit card tax payment option to make tax payments via the Internet or over the phone.

Official Payments provides electronic payment services for the Internal Revenue Service, 22 states, the District of Columbia and more than 1,500 local government clients nationwide. Official Payments' principal business is processing electronic payments on behalf of government entities via its Web site, www.officialpayments.com, and its toll-free telephone number, 1-800-2PAY-TAX(SM).
Official Payments charges citizens a convenience fee for the service. Citizens using credit or debit cards with bonus rewards programs may, depending on their card's program, earn reward points, airline frequent flyer miles or cash back for paying their taxes and fees.
