HP Equips UK Sales Team with OneSource Business Information Solution to Improve Productivity and Sales Effectiveness
LONDON --(Business Wire)-- July 28, 2004 -- Information accessed remotely using HP iPAQ Pocket PCs
OneSource Information Services, an infoUSA company (NASDAQ: IUSA), announced today that Hewlett Packard UK has equipped more than 200 of its sales professionals with remote access to OneSource's business information through HP iPAQ Pocket PCs. Content from the OneSource(R) Enhanced Information Warehouse - which includes daily news feeds, industry and company profiles, as well as executive biographies and corporate family details - is integrated with internal customer information from HP's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This combined information can be accessed remotely from HP's intranet so that field sales and telesales staff can view critical customer information from any location.
Nearly half of the UK sales team will be accessing OneSource business information remotely using HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, which connect to the intranet via a Bluetooth link to GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) phones. By reducing the amount of time spent sourcing information, the OneSource solution allows HP sales professionals to have more time to manage client needs and close new business. Additionally, sales consultants can monitor changing events and how they impact an existing customer or new business opportunity.
OneSource used its proprietary classification system, the Global Business Taxonomy, to integrate OneSource information with HP's customer records within the CRM system. The OneSource AppLink(TM) Software Development Kit was used to integrate a live feed of this information into HP's intranet.
