Velocitus to Provide Treasure Valley Businesses Voice Over IP (VoIP) Services; Velocitus Connections(TM) Bundles Local Voice Lines, Long Distance and High-Speed Internet Access
BOISE, Idaho, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Velocitus today launched a new Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone service for business customers. Dubbed Velocitus Connections(TM), the service is available in the Boise/Treasure Valley calling area, extending west to Payette and east to Mountain Home.
"Small business customers typically have been ignored by the telephone companies when it comes to converging their voice, data and Internet service needs," said Velocitus President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Britton. "Velocitus Connections gives those customers the access to the technologies and communications services they need to gain the competitive edge required in today's accelerated economy."
Velocitus Connections(TM) bundles voice, data and Internet services for businesses and includes such features as:
* "Connections Call Manager" a web-based call control portal available
from any web connected computer in the world. It includes such
features as click-to-dial, simultaneous-ring, and unified messaging;
* unified messaging; the convergence of voicemail and email into one
interface that integrates existing business email systems and
activities with such email programs as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook
Express, Hotmail and Yahoo email;
* and high-performance Internet access via Velocitus Connections(TM)
T1 lines that link the customer's network with the Internet and are
not shared by other subscribers. The service also dynamically
allocates bandwidth, so when voice lines are not in use, that
bandwidth is available for data and Internet applications.
"Velocitus Connections is designed to enable the small business customer to simplify their operations by eliminating the need for multiple service providers, local PBX or phone systems and all the administrative hassles, excessive costs and stranded capital investments that accompany them," said Britton
"Velocitus Connections has changed the way we communicate," said C.A. Daw from Bosch, Daw & Ballard, a Boise law firm that has participated in Velocitus's market and technology trials for the new service. "My employees save 30 minutes a day and my business is more competitive. I can't imagine doing business without Velocitus."
Velocitus Connections(TM) eliminates the administrative costs and delays associated with moves, line additions and changes. The Connections web portal allows users to control their own call features and add new services without calling the phone company.
Velocitus Connections(TM) provides local telephone service with the features, quality and reliability businesses have come to expect. With access to emergency services (911), directory assistance (411) and traditional operator services, Velocitus Connections(TM) provides everything required of business telephone service plus advanced features available only from Velocitus. Combine all this with local number portability and small business customers finally have access to a complete telecommunications and Internet bundle unrivaled by traditional telephone companies.
