RailWorks Corporation Adds New Board Members; Timothy Buresh and Jeffrey Levy To Serve As Board Directors
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 14, 2004 -- RailWorks Corporation, a leading provider of construction, maintenance and material solutions for the rail and rail-transit industries, announced today that Timothy B. Buresh and Jeffrey M. Levy have accepted positions on the company's board of directors.
Timothy Buresh is currently Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest school district in the country and the second largest employer in Southern California with more than 84,000 employees and 900,000 students. The District has an operating budget of $6 billion and is the tenth largest constructor in the country. He previously worked as Director of Construction and Engineering for the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) where he managed a $2.4-billion rail transportation project. It was the only major public works project to finish on time and under budget in Southern California in the last 20 years. Buresh is a licensed civil engineer in seven states and a member of the California State Bar with more than 28 years of multi-disciplinary, construction industry experience with major engineering and construction companies.
Jeffrey Levy is currently an independent management consultant. He previously served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE:EME), a $4.5 billion, Fortune 500 company with 26,000 employees. The company provides mechanical and electrical construction and facilities operations and maintenance services for buildings and facilities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Levy played a major role in building EMCOR, expanding the business from $1.65 billion to $4.5 billion through a combination of organic growth, strategic alliances and acquisitions. Over a seven-year period under his tenure, the company achieved compound annual growth of more than of 15 percent in revenue and 31 percent in earnings. Levy is a licensed mechanical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the engineering, design and construction of commercial, industrial and transportation infrastructure facilities.
