PivX Sells Security Software Through Online Store; Intrusion Prevention Software for Consumers is Selling Briskly; Company Reports First Week of Availability

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 13, 2004 -- PivX Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:PIVX), the leader in next-generation, host-based intrusion prevention (HIPS) software for Windows(R)-based computers, announces that it has licensed more than 1,500 copies of its Qwik-Fix Pro Home Edition(TM) since offering the product on its online store only a week ago. You can purchase the product directly at http://www.pivx.com/qwikfixPurchase/.

Qwik-Fix Pro Home Edition is designed to protect consumers or small-office users from falling victim to the next worm or virus before vendor security patches become available. Reactive security solutions, such as anti-virus software, are no longer enough to protect home computers against today's fast spreading exploits. Qwik-Fix Pro uses Active System Hardening(TM) to protect Windows-based PCs, by blocking the underlying vulnerabilities exploited by worms and viruses. During extensive worldwide market testing, over a quarter of a million users were proactively protected from thousands of worms and viruses by Qwik-Fix Pro.

"Qwik-Fix Pro, with its unique take on security, is, to my mind, a far better way to tackle the problem of security," said Qwik-Fix Pro Home Edition customer Bob Bowen. "Qwik-Fix Pro is the first proactive program I have seen."

"With Microsoft recently announcing that they will no longer offer all the current and future security fixes built into Windows XP SP2 for older versions of Windows, there is an increased need for proactive security solutions in the home and we have seen that come true in our first week of sales," said Rob Shively, chairman and CEO at PivX. "Following the successful launch of our enterprise version, many of those customers are now taking advantage of the product for their personal home use. Along with the initial success of our consumer version, we are being invited into security product pitches for some of the world's largest companies, including those in transportation, consumer goods, banking and government. PivX also just signed new corporate accounts, including California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Redpoint Ventures and Versant Ventures."

The product works with Windows 95 or higher and offers the same level of protection as Qwik-Fix Pro Enterprise. Installation and configuration are managed directly on each local machine, making it simple for consumers to deploy and monitor. The product is priced at $49.95 for a one-year subscription, with special pricing of $34.95 through December 31, 2004. To view the special pricing go to: http://www.pivx.com/qwikfixPurchase/
