WJ Announces First Volume Production Order for Multi-Protocol RFID Reader Cards; EPC Class 0/1/UHF Reader Cards to Start Volume Shipping in Fourth Quarter
SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 30, 2004 -- WJ Communications, Inc (Nasdaq:WJCI), a leading designer and supplier of RF semiconductors and multi-chip modules, today announced that it has received the first volume production order for its new Multi-Protocol MPR 5000 and MPR 6000 RFID Cards. The MPR RFID Cards are Type II PCMCIA compatible and operate with the EPCglobal(TM) Class 0 and Class 1 RFID standards. They are also upgradeable to future standards. These small and easy-to-use RFID cards are building blocks for OEMs, systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and small business owners developing printer, handheld, fixed and other integrated RFID-enabled end-products. Deliveries against this order are scheduled to commence in Q4, 2004.
