8x8 Signs Wholesale Agreements for Packet8 Voice and Video Over IP Offerings

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 8x8, Inc. , the Packet8 broadband voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and videophone communications service provider, announced it has entered into wholesale agreements with Corridor Communications, RBM Communications and WCOIL, allowing each organization to private label the Packet8 VoIP products and services and provide customized web interfaces applicable to their own customers.
"With our recent acquisition of Eagle West Communications, we are looking to increase the number of services we can provide to our growing subscriber base," said Michael Heil, Chief Executive Officer of Salem, Oregon-based Corridor Communications. "The Packet8 VoIP service has gained a reputation for high quality and reliability and we are convinced that this is the ideal product for us to market to our subscribers as an additional value added service."
"Since RBM primarily markets to the Hispanic community, the ability for us to customize the voice prompts and interfaces into the Spanish language is a significant advantage for us," said Richard Herela, President of Las Vegas, Nevada-based LLAMA MEX, INC. "This partnership with Packet8 will add subscribers that would not normally have selected the service due to the language barriers."
"WCOIL has established itself as a successful ISP in Ohio and our customers are very interested in the potential cost savings and additional features offered by the new VoIP service. Customers are more inclined to buy from a local company where they have an existing relationship. We have been providing connectivity, networking, web design/hosting and more for the past 10 years and voice is a natural addition to our services," said Mike O'Connor, President of Lima, Ohio-based WCOIL. "Packet8 is a great company for us to partner with to provide these exciting new services to our customer base."
"We are very pleased to announce these new wholesale partners for the Packet8 service," said 8x8 Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Huw Rees. "These partners will bring subscribers to our services that we may not otherwise have reached while providing the local support and value added services required by their customers."
