Color Management Evangelist from Apple Joins X-Rite GRANDVILLE, Mich. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 15, 2004 -- X-Rite (Nasdaq:XRIT) today announced the appointment of John J. Zimmerer, Jr. as X-Rite's New Market Development Manager. In this new role, Mr. Zimmerer will manage the identification and development of emerging markets and technologies for the Company's core color business."We are excited to have John Zimmerer as part of the X-Rite team," said James Weaver, X-Rite's Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. "Having come from a leader in digital media to the leader in color management, this will be a natural move for John. His experience and expertise in color technologies will help us identify new and emerging markets, enabling X-Rite to continue marketshare growth, especially in the digital imaging market." Mr. Zimmerer joins X-Rite from Apple Computer, Incorporated, where he held the position of Color and Imaging Product Marketing Manager. In this role Zimmerer established the key feature requirements that lead the development of Apple's color and imaging technologies, including Image Capture, ColorSync, Quartz, and Printing technologies in the Mac OS X desktop operating system. Prior to joining Apple, Zimmerer was a founding Partner and General Manager of Mac Solutions LLC and Precision CPS LLC, in Baltimore, Maryland. At both companies, Zimmerer consulted graphic arts companies on best practices and emerging technologies, primarily driving the application and development of ICC color management services. These services were coordinated in conjunction with X-Rite and other color companies. Zimmerer has a BA from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He is a member of Society of Motion Picture & Televisions Engineers (SMPTE), Photo Marketing Association (PMA), and Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA).
