Acterna VoIP Solutions Take Center Stage at SCTE's VoIP Deployment Symposium in Philadelphia, September 14
GERMANTOWN, Md. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 13, 2004 -- Panel Discussion Features Acterna's VoIP Test Capabilities that Ensure Quality of Service and Reliability for Cable Network Operators
In an industry panel discussion, Acterna will present its leading and award-winning VoIP solutions during the 2004 "Advanced VoIP Deployment Symposium," an event presented by both the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and Communications Technology magazine in Philadelphia, September 14, 2004.
At this sold-out event, Acterna will showcase its test and network management leadership by addressing a number of critical issues operators face when deploying VoIP services over their cable networks. The discussion will include topics such as overcoming the key roadblocks of successful VoIP deployment, implementing effective testing and measuring tools for quality of service (QoS), and executing the proper steps for operators to "get deployment right the first time."
Acterna will also emphasize the valuable role that test products and test systems play in improving operating efficiencies, ensuring quality and supporting customer retention. The company will identify the typical issues customers face when deploying voice services and offer methods to eliminate these problems, helping today's cable network operator deliver VoIP in a competitive marketplace.
"We applaud the SCTE and Communications Technology magazine for hosting an important event that explores a critical and timely issue: how to cost-effectively engineer new VoIP revenues through best technology practices," said Kevin Oliver, vice president of marketing for Acterna's Cable Networks Division. "This topic is a natural fit for us -- the VoIP solutions that Acterna will present continue to help customers capitalize on growth opportunities and tackle the challenges facing deployment of these new services."
Acterna also plans to demonstrate its VoIP test capability by showcasing the award winning Acterna Digital Service Activation Meter (DSAM) test meter platform, the only field test instrument available with built-in PacketCable(TM)-based Multimedia Terminal Adapter (MTA) capable of in-service VoIP testing. The DSAM's built-in MTA allows users to test end-to-end call quality and to place and receive phone calls to test the complex provisioning and signaling sequence.
Acterna's presentation will take place from 10:00AM -11:00 AM at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia during a panel discussion entitled "Achieving the Right Balance: Engineering VoIP with Capital and Operating Expenses in Mind."
