Grand Entertainment & Music, Inc. To Launch Music E-commerce Website
MIAMI --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 7, 2004 -- In conjunction with its investor awareness program, Grand Entertainment & Music, Inc. (GENM:Pink Sheets) today announced that it will launch a music e-commerce website. The website will function as an e-music store that offers both proprietary GENM music content as well as music produced by other companies. The site will enable the general public to download individual titles; create their own compilations; and purchase commercially-available music CDs and DVDs. GENM's goal is to replicate what Amazon.com did for selling books on-line, but exclusively with music. GENM CEO Fred Berlin stated, "The Internet makes it a level-playing field for the distribution and sale of music. We have the right tools and expertise on our side to make selling music on-line profitable for GENM and its shareholders."
The website, using the Microsoft.Net platform, is currently under development by Sygenics Corporation (www.sygenics.com), a leading-edge developer of Advanced Information Management Technology. Sygenics CEO Raj Vadavia stated, "We are pleased to work with GENM on this major project to create a complete e-commerce solution to selling and marketing music on-line. Based on our past clients' experiences, switching from a standard to a web-based method of marketing their products and services typically results in a revenue increase of 100-200%." There has been a delay in developing the website, which was originally announced in the March 5 press release, due to the change to a more advanced technology by Sygenics called EVOLUTION, the world's only Adaptive Data Technology. This unique technology is the result of over four years of research and development into the engineering of next-generation data management systems and is available for direct, custom integration, and OEM licensing to software developers worldwide. GENM will be integrating the website into its current Corporate site, with an expected release date of mid-October.
