OAUG To Host OAUG Connection Point 2004 - Point of Contact

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 2, 2004 -- Conference to feature Oracle's Cliff Godwin, Oracle Applications user presentations, training sessions and hands-on demonstrations

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) will host its OAUG Connection Point 2004 - Point of Contact event, Sept. 12-15, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Fla.

OAUG Connection Point 2004 will offer attendees access to Oracle Applications experts and users and exposure to enlightening ideas and strategies about Oracle Applications best practices. Highlights of the conference will include: pre-conference workshops; Geo (Geographic) and SIG (Special Interest Group) meetings; a professional development track; product sessions led by Oracle executives; white paper presentations; workshops; training sessions; complementary vendor products; access to the latest applications and more.



"OAUG Connection Point is one of the most prominent Oracle-related events in the country and is a great example of many people, from throughout the Oracle community, coming together to share our collective experience and knowledge about Oracle Applications," said Patricia Dues, president of the OAUG. "This year's event provides a great way to learn more about Oracle Applications and create important ties with other members of the Oracle community."

On Saturday, Sept. 11, six informative pre-conference workshops will be offered by Pareto Principals, Inc., the International Oracle Users Group (IOUG) and ClearOrbit. Topics include: Leading and Managing a World-Class IT Department (Pareto Principals, Inc.); Technical Project Management: Boot Camp for IT Professionals (Pareto Principals, Inc.); Oracle Past, Present and Future: Making YOU the Oracle Expert (IOUG); Java Development with JDeveloper: An Oracle Developer's Guide (IOUG); Introduction to Data Warehousing and Using Oracle Designer (IOUG); RFID: From Compliance to ROI (ClearOrbit).


This year, OAUG Connection Point's opening day will be on Sunday, Sept. 12, in order to offer additional advocacy, educational and networking opportunities. The event's activities officially start off with SIGs holding meetings for their members and the first white papers, panel sessions and training sessions.

Cliff Godwin, senior vice president of Oracle Corp., is the keynote speaker during the general session on Monday, Sept. 13. Godwin will provide an overview of Oracle's E-Business Suite and discuss brand new integration services that dramatically simplify the integration of the software with other business applications. His speech will also offer tips on how Oracle's open, standards-based architecture allows users to integrate into a heterogeneous business systems environment.

"OAUG Connection Point is an effective forum for Oracle Corp. to connect directly with users," said Godwin. "By working closely together with the OAUG at the event, we enable applications users to support each other's efforts to get more out of Oracle Applications."

Overall, there are more than 200 presentations, training sessions and panel discussions and 12 different tracks that cover the various interests of applications users available to OAUG Connection Point 2004 participants. Some of these tracks include: application integration; financials; human resources and public sector/education/government.
