Positron Corporation Installs PET Scanner at Decatur Health Imaging, LLC

HOUSTON --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 20, 2004 -- Positron Corporation (OTCBB:POSC), manufacturer of positron emission tomography (PET) scanners, delivered and installed a Positron PET Scanner to Decatur Health Imaging, LLC located in Decatur, Alabama. This transaction will be recorded in the company's third fiscal quarter financial results.

Dr. Gregory S. Windham, Managing Member of Decatur Health Imaging, stated, "I have been very pleased with the performance and accuracy of our existing Positron PET scanner. Our expansion into the Decatur area will provide patients with the highest quality PET imaging at our dual modality center without requiring patients to travel outside of their local community. We will be providing cardiac and oncological imaging services and look forward to developing our neurology practice. As our population ages, dementia disorder diagnosis will become increasingly important, along with the significant benefits to early detection of heart disease, the number one cause of death in America. Decatur Health Imaging is a free-standing, physician owned imaging center which provides comprehensive cardiac, oncological and neurological imaging services to patients and physicians in the Decatur, Alabama area. The center collaborates closely with Decatur General Hospital and its cancer treatment center.
