Advanced ID to Simulate Livestock Disease Outbreak in Thailand

CALGARY, Alberta --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 18, 2004 -- Advanced ID Corporation (OTCBB:AIDO), a total solutions provider in the radio frequency identification (RFID) market, today announced that it will be meeting with Thailand Government officials later this week to demonstrate its RFID livestock identification and trace back technology under a simulated disease outbreak demonstration as one of the final steps to procuring a sales contract as previously reported.

The demonstration will utilize Advanced ID's DataTRAC(TM) cattle tags, handheld and stationary readers, and database system. Approximately 200 head of cattle will be utilized for the purpose of simulating a disease outbreak to show the capabilities of Advanced ID's software and hardware technology to quickly locate diseased animals' for immediate containment, quarantine and/or eradication.

Barry Bennett, President & CEO of Advanced ID Corporation, stated, "The purpose of the simulation is to demonstrate how our technology delivers a complete solution for identification and trace back of diseased livestock, and which we understand should be one of the final steps to securing a contract in Thailand. Our previous delays in Thailand have resulted from the Government's need for a database management software program. Even though this was not an initial requirement for this project, we took ownership of developing a solution which we have recently finalized. We now have a complete identification and trace back solution for Thailand which utilizes our RFID hardware and software technology. Having developed a database management system, we can now offer a complete turnkey solution to our other projects worldwide, including some new projects being implemented by our recently appointed Vice President of Business Development and Marketing."

As previously reported, the Thailand Government has indicated their intent to implement a national identification and trace back system to minimize or eliminate the spread of disease as a matter of national health. Thailand officials have prioritized the identification of one million cattle to be acquired and lent to farmers, and have now indicated their intent to include dairy cattle as part of the initial identification.
