[October 13, 2004] Hitachi, Mitsui and Kabira Technologies Announce Technical Collaboration to Provide New OSS Solutions TOKYO --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 13, 2004 -- Hitachi, Ltd, Japan's leading system integrator and network equipment provider, Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Japan's largest general trade facilitator, and Kabira Technologies, the leader in high-speed Switching Software and Service Gateways for real-time telecommunications and financial services networks, have announced a technical collaboration dedicated to the development of new solution frameworks for next generation OSS services addressing the telecommunications market. Hitachi, Mitsui and Kabira will actively collaborate to develop next generation services frameworks integrated with the Kabira Infrastructure System. Hitachi will provide IPv6 supported solutions and integrated solutions with JP1, the Japanese market leader in network management software. The new relationship involves Kabira supplying IPv6 adapters that Hitachi will use in the development of their own specific solutions. Based on Kabira's platform and solutions, Hitachi will be able to provide next generation OSS solutions integrated with Hitachi's own network equipment and software solutions for mobile and broadband service providers. The alliance builds on the success of Kabira's existing relationship with Mitsui in Japan, which Kabira's master distributor partner in Japan in December 2001. Mitsui and Kabira have targeted fast growing opportunities in 3G network rollouts, particularly strong in Japan, by offering solutions for the 3G wireless services and broadband network markets. Under the new agreement, Mitsui will help Hitachi to promote and market these OSS services frameworks in Japan.
