Sorrent Appoints Albert A. ''Rocky'' Pimentel Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
SAN MATEO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 12, 2004 -- Leading Mobile Publisher Hires Prominent Executive to Lead Worldwide Financial Operations
Sorrent, Inc., a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, today announced the appointment of Albert A. "Rocky" Pimentel as executive vice president and chief financial officer. As an eminent financial executive renowned for advising and negotiating successful mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings, Mr. Pimentel will direct the financial policies and functions of Sorrent worldwide.
Mr. Pimentel joins Sorrent from Zone Labs where, as executive vice president and chief financial officer, he oversaw the company's successful negotiation and merger with Check Point Software. Prior to Zone Labs, Mr. Pimentel was a partner with Redpoint Ventures, where he managed the firm's operational activities, business development and new investment development.

Mr. Pimentel's career has also included leadership positions with WebTV Networks, where he was senior vice president and chief financial officer (acquired by Microsoft, Nasdaq: MSFT); LSI Logic Corporation, where he was senior vice president and chief financial officer; and Momenta Corporation, where he was vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Pimentel was a member of the founding management teams of Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX), a NYSE-listed Global 500 developer, and Conner Peripherals, Inc., which was acquired by Seagate in 1996.
