Eagle Broadband Wins 20,000 Unit IP Set-Top Box Order from Entertainment Media & Telecoms Corporation
HOUSTON --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 29, 2004 -- Major Order for Eagle's Advanced IP Set-Top Box Technology Enables EMT to Deliver Superior In-Room Entertainment Services to their Hospitality Customers Worldwide
Eagle Broadband, Inc. (AMEX:EAG), a leading provider of broadband, Internet protocol (IP) and satellite communications technology and services, announced today that the company has received a 20,000 unit order for the company's advanced, Media Pro IP set-top boxes from EMT Corporation, a leading provider of digital services delivery systems to the hospitality industry.
EMT will use the set-top boxes to support their aggressive global expansion in the hospitality industry and accelerate deployments for both U.S. and international hospitality customers. To meet a wide range of specific customer application needs, the order includes a mix of Eagle's high definition, standard definition and lower cost IPTV Media Pro models as well as the company's EZ-Magic middleware software. Under the terms of the order, shipments will begin immediately.
Eagle's Media Pro set-top boxes will be used with EMT's in-room entertainment systems to deliver a full range of guest services including video-on-demand with DVD functionality, high-speed Internet access, interactive television guides, guest messaging, online advertising, electronic concierge services, online shopping, online checkout, and other revenue generating guest services.
