MAP Telecom signs a partnership with Omurga in Turkey to create channel for voice service based on VoiceXML standard

Map Telecom has signed a partnership with Omurga, a Turkish telecommunication service and infrastructure provider in order to give to the Turkish market access to voice services with the VoiceXML standard.

Map Telecom offers a cost effective transport solution and the possibility to open Turkish premium rate telephone numbers. Map Telecom plans to develop the VoiceXML offer in Turkey. Map Telecom will make partnerships with technological development centers, install a Turkish branch of the Passport VoiceXML training centre, and collaborate with international call centers located in Turkey.

Map Telecom CEO, François-Xavier Despret, declares: “our partnership with Omurga in Turkey will promote voice service exchange between Turkey and the European Union. This is a great opportunity for Turkish players to offer their services to European companies and for European players to develop their business in Turkey leveraging the benefits of the VoiceXML standard combined with the opening of this channel.”

This initiative will allow Turkish developers to make their applications with the VoiceXML standard certified by the W3C. This will promote and expand this new high value standard in Turkey. Map Telecom offers Turkish developers the possibility to develop and test their application on its development infrastructure. Turkish developers will then join the existing community counting today over 1800 developers in 26 countries.

Omurga CEO, Mustafa Sokullu, said: “Turkey meets today a high growth and the development of technologies related to telephony are in fast expansion. This is a unique opportunity for the Turkish market to take advantage of using a well established infrastructure, a certified standard and to work with a partner like Map Telecom.”

Omurga is currently preparing agreements in Turkey to promote this ambitious project with Turkish industrials and international call centres.
