Brotman Medical Center Connects Cardiac Physicians to TCS Symphony from Medcon Telemedicine Technology, Inc.

WHIPPANY, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 3, 2004 -- Brotman Medical Center has chosen TCS Symphony from Medcon Telemedicine Technology to provide a fully automated filmless cardiac cath lab. TCS Symphony enables cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to manipulate full diagnostic DICOM images over a fast network environment. Its many functions include filmless acquisition, reviewing, processing, report generation, communications and long-term archiving. These functions are not limited to X-ray angiography images, but apply to echocardiography, NM, MRI, and CT images as well.

TCS Symphony is fast and easy to use. It has an intuitive interface, which guides the user through the viewing and exchange process. Medcon has taken great care to ensure secure access, patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

"Our goal at Brotman Medical Center was to provide our physicians with a complete cardiac information system to assist them in delivering quality care to patients, said Maurine Cate, CEO of Brotman Medical Center. "The system provided by Medcon is truly remarkable."

"Medcon is honored to have been chosen by Brotman as its cardiology image and information management system," said Tom Chambers, Vice President of Sales. "This installation exemplifies the expanding requirements of modern cardiology, including support for multiple modalities and full Internet capabilities."

The new system is already in place in Brotman Medical Center's cardiac cath lab. Five stations are now available to physicians located throughout the hospital. Two are located in the cardiac cath lab, and one each in vascular ultrasound, non-invasive cardiology, and in the radiology department. The next phase, to be completed by November 1, 2004, will provide detailed reporting to physicians and will provide hospital based intranet access. The final phase, planned for a December 2004 launch, will introduce a web-enabled version that will offer physicians complete access to the system through their office computer system.

Medcon's TCS Symphony(TM) aggregates cardiology multi-modality images with patient information in one central database for LAN and Internet access. It expedites the cardiology workflow, so that healthcare professionals can deliver efficient, cost-effective, high quality patient care, from therapeutic decision making to cohesive medical record management. TCS Symphony seamlessly integrates with third-party systems and equipment for flawless implementation, thus reducing installation costs while supporting existing critical information.
