The efforts around product data synchronization have yielded an improved model for sharing product information throughout the supply chain. The Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a key enabler of this model, facilitating the synchronization and consistency of static, GTIN-level product level information. The GDSN provides for the synchronization of static data, whereas the EPC Network enables the discovery, storage, and securing of dynamic data. The improved consistency of static product information delivered by the GDSN coupled with dynamically generated item-level information will drive a new level of supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
