Frontline 2004 Announces Appointment of Industry Luminaries to Executive Advisory Committee
WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- May 24, 2004 -- Event Maintains Status as Largest RFID Event in North America with 150 Suppliers & More Than 6,000 Expected Attendees
AIM Global and Advanstar Technology Group, a division of Advanstar Communications, Inc., today announced the formation of the Executive Advisory Committee (EAC) that will design the conference structure and programs for this year's Frontline Solutions Conference and Exposition, September 13-15 at Chicago's Navy Pier Convention Center. The EAC will focus on the development of Frontline's conference, workshop, and industry meetings programs and ensure that the event delivers timely, relevant, and objective content presented by high caliber speakers.
Dan Mullen, President of AIM Global, and Brooke Peterson, Principal with Convene, Inc. -- formerly of the Auto-ID Center and EPCglobal US -- have been named as conference co-chairpersons of the Frontline EAC. With literally hundreds of speaking submission requests, Mullen and Peterson have spearheaded the formation of a consortium of the brightest minds in radio frequency identification (RFID), automatic identification (AutoID), electronic product code (EPC), data capture, and supply chain mobility, including: -0- *T Conference Co-chair: Conference Co-chair: -------------------- -------------------- Convene, Inc. The Frontline 2004 Conference will consist of three uniquely focused forums, offering attendees the most complete view of AutoID and mobile data solutions available in any North American event. Highlights in the Frontline Conference include:
RFID Systems Forum
Following the tremendous success of last year's 3rd Annual RFID Summit and the EPC Symposium programs, the 2004 RFID Forum, including the wildly popular RFID Summit and the EPC Summit, will help organizations navigate the rapidly evolving RFID landscape. Real-world examples will be presented in this forum where attendees will move beyond news and hype to learn about the standards, capabilities, and benefits of the entire spectrum of RFID systems and learn how corporate and government enterprises are successfully integrating them within their overall enterprise IT architecture and the results they are achieving.
Bar Code Systems Forum
Bar code systems are the foundation of data capture applications that continue to drive value in retail, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and government enterprises around the globe. Sessions in this forum will focus on key system design, integration, implementation, standards, and compliance issues through a range of case studies and expert presentations. Topics will also include the convergence of bar code and RFID systems and how to support this transition. The Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) Lab program from Ohio State University will once again be a centerpiece of this unique educational experience along with other featured sessions.
Industry Forum
Separate tracks of education will allow real-world, industry-specific case studies to have a specific voice in the Frontline Conference. Specific education sessions will be offered in the following vertical markets:
-- Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals
-- Government & Defense
-- Transportation & Logistics
-- Manufacturing
"Having been at the epicenter of the EPC revolution in my roles at the Auto-ID Center and then EPCglobal, I wanted to help engineer an industry conference that clearly lays the path for solutions today, but also gives each attendee that is trying to develop plans for their enterprise a view towards 'what's next?'," states Brooke Peterson, Principal of Convene. "What makes this conference unique is the focus on the full AutoID solution for meeting today's mandates -- from barcode to emerging RFID technologies to mobility and data management systems. The conference helps bridge the gap between present and future for companies trying to build a realistic path to implementation. The diversity of industry input provided by the EAC gives Frontline a distinct advantage and pushes it beyond the limitations of a single technology or standard or institutional perspective. That is essential because it reflects the diverse environment in which business, technology and systems professionals are planning. It's an honor to be collaborating with such a prestigious team," says Peterson.
Also new for 2004 will be the use of clearly defined icons that will assist attendees toward content that meets their specific needs or interests within the event's education, pavilions, demonstrations, and keynotes. The icons, which are each designed to speak specifically to a unique area within the supply chain, include:
-- Identification
-- Mobility
-- Security
-- Compliance
-- Interoperability
-- Value
"Frontline is THE showcase for the complete range of AutoID technology and solutions," said Dan Mullen, President of AIM Global. "With the confusion generated by the incredible demand for RFID, EPC, and AutoID information, AIM, as the only association dedicated to automatic identification and mobility technology, is uniquely positioned to work with the EAC and ensure our attendees are given the tools that will enable them to build the kind of experience that is right for their needs -- be it from a technology perspective or in an industry-specific context, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, retail, consumer goods manufacturing, or defense," adds Mullen. "We want to empower our community and the 6,000 buyers and suppliers who attend Frontline to have the kind of experience that will help them create value for their organizations by deploying AutoID and mobility solutions."
Frontline 2003 was selected by M.I.T.'s AutoID Center to co-locate and launch the first-ever EPC Symposium in fall of 2003. "That was yet another milestone in the industry that was brought to market at Frontline," states Kerry Gumas, Vice President of Advanstar Technology Group. "Having a 22-year track record of experience as the AutoID industry's leading event, Frontline is uniquely positioned as a platform to introduce technologies to the market and help buyers identify how to effectively put those technologies to work in their organizations. Frontline is the most comprehensive conference in the industry offering attendees a uniquely balanced, unbiased platform of information and education accompanied by the industry's largest tradeshow. With more than 40,000 net square feet of demonstration space already, Frontline continues to be the largest presentation of technology, suppliers, and solutions providers under one roof. The success of Frontline stems from the efforts of the many partners, media sponsors, exhibitors and industry associations who collaborate each year to shape the content of the event. We are very pleased that the EAC reflects the diversity of the industry and are looking forward to producing a blockbuster event in September."
