Dicki Lulay Resigns as President of EPCglobal US Michael Meranda Named Successor
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- May 20, 2004 -- The Uniform Code Council, leaders in the development and implementation of standards-based, global supply chain solutions, announced today that Dicki Lulay has resigned as President of its subsidiary, EPCglobal US effective May 31, 2004 and has accepted a position in another organization.
Michael Meranda currently serving as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development of EPCglobal US was named as the successor.
The Uniform Code Council, a not-for-profit organization, is the originator and administrator of the Universal Product Code or UPC, introduced thirty years ago utilizing barcodes on products flowing through the global supply chain. EPCglobal US is an affiliate of EPCglobal, Inc., a joint venture of the Uniform Code Council and EAN International. The organization is entrusted by industry to implement and expand the electronic product code (EPC) utilizing radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
Ms. Lulay joined EPCglobal US in April of 2003 and led the organization through its first year. Under her leadership, the organization established multi-industry action groups to provide input to the standards development process, forged an innovative intellectual property agreement with subscribers to ensure royalty free standards and directed the expansion of a growing subscriber community.
Commenting on Ms. Lulay's tenure at the helm of EPCglobal US, Mike Di Yeso, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Uniform Code Council and acting President of EPCglobal, Inc. stated, "We appreciate Dicki's contributions to the mission of EPCglobal US. Mike Meranda joined EPCglobal US in October of 2003 from RosettaNet, another subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council. He has been instrumental in expanding the EPC community across key industries where RFID and EPC technologies have significant near term benefits such as healthcare and high technology. He has introduced numerous programs that help prospective implementers relate this new technology to their unique needs and has been an important contributor to the expansion and growth of EPCglobal US.

Michael Meranda is the President of EPCglobal US.
EPCglobal US is an affiliate of EPCglobal, Inc., an organization that serves subscribers in the United States and fosters the adoption of the Electronic Product Code and EPCglobal Network and related technology. Mr. Meranda brings more than 16 years of experience in strategic marketing and product development to EPCglobal US.
In this position, Mr. Meranda will oversee and manage all aspects of the organization's commercialization strategy for the EPC, a breakthrough supply chain technology that was conceived and developed at the Auto-ID Center. These activities include global standards development, promoting multi-industry adoption of EPC technology, implementation support and industry education
Prior to joining EPCglobal US in 2003 as the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development, Mr. Meranda was employed by RosettaNet as Vice President, Industry Development. In this role, he led RosettaNet's Solution Provider Managing Board and the strategic and industry development for the non-profit consortium of more than 400 of the world's leading Information Technology (IT), Electronic Components (EC), Semiconductor Manufacturing (SM) and Solution Provider (SP) companies.
Mr. Meranda obtained his Masters of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Purdue University.
