Pac-West Telecomm Launches Content Acceleration Partner Program

STOCKTON, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pac-West Telecomm, Inc. , a provider of broadband communications services to service providers and enterprise customers in the western U.S., today announced the launch of its Acceleration Marketplace Program (AMP).

Targeted at Internet service providers (ISPs) looking for a fully managed accelerated dial solution, Pac-West's partner program provides ISPs with access to a pre-screened network of industry-leading content acceleration partners.
Pac-West launched its own content acceleration solution, Dial Broadband(TM), in May of 2003. AMP was created to provide ISPs with access to additional acceleration solutions that offer a variety of feature sets and capabilities. ISPs that select one of the solutions available through Pac-West benefit by being able to deploy an accelerated dial offering without the need for additional hardware or network upgrades, which accelerates their time to market and reduces their implementation costs.
Wayne Bell, Pac-West's vice president of marketing and sales, said, "Pac- West is continually looking for new ways to help our service provider customers grow their business and enhance their subscribers' dial-up experience. Our partner program provides ISPs with the information they need to quickly and easily evaluate, select, and deploy the right content acceleration solution for their business."
Pac-West has initially selected four leading content acceleration solutions for inclusion in its partner program, including AcceleNet(TM), Artera Turbo(TM), Propel(R) Accelerator, and SlipStream. Bell continued, "The content acceleration technologies that are available through our partner program offer dial-up subscribers an Internet experience up to 5x faster than traditional dial-up, including web surfing, file downloads, and email, at a fraction of the cost of broadband alternatives, such as DSL, cable, and wireless. By partnering with our ISP customers to enhance their dial-up service, we help them improve customer satisfaction, reduce churn, and generate new revenue streams, particularly in areas where DSL, cable, and wireless are not available."
Pac-West has built one of the most comprehensive and reliable networks in California. By subscribing to Pac-West's managed dial access service or co- locating their own equipment in Pac-West's SuperPOPs, ISPs can provide Internet access to subscribers located anywhere in Pac-West's western U.S. footprint through a local dial-up number.
