TCS Joins Symbian Platinum Program
NEW YORK, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced today that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for smartphones based on Symbian OS(TM). As a Platinum Partner, TCS is extending its mobile computing-based services, solutions and offerings to the Symbian OS ecosystem. Symbian Software Limited develops and licenses Symbian OS, the global industry standard operating system for smartphones, to the world's leading handset manufacturers. Symbian OS licensees account for over 85% of worldwide mobile phone sales(1) and in 2003, more than 6.67 million phones based on Symbian OS were shipped worldwide.
