California Manufacturing Technology Consulting and Columbus IT Partner Present Lean Logistics Seminar in Orange County

LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- May 4, 2004 -- Reservations are being accepted for California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) and Columbus IT Partner's "Lean Logistics Seminar" on Tuesday, May 18th, at Microsoft Orange County, 3 Park Plaza, Suite 1800, Irvine, CA, 92614.

The workshop, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., is designed for business owners, presidents, controllers, plant managers, anyone responsible for cost management or the manufacturing process, as well as anyone in the organization who can benefit and apply concepts to their areas of responsibility.

Sponsored by CMTC and Columbus IT Partner, this workshop will focus on Lean logistics. Lean logistics concentrates on eliminating non-value added activities from a company and streamlining its value-added activities. An organization with a Lean supply chain uses less space, manages cash to increase inventory velocity, effectively uses transportation, and ties everything together with an integrated information system from within the organization, extending to both suppliers and customers. Lean is more than just a production methodology, it includes an emphasis on quality, preventive maintenance, employee involvement and decision making, and continuous improvement. Microsoft Business Solutions' answer to Lean logistics is their high-end ERP solution Microsoft Axapta that has the speed of response for companies wishing to introduce Lean thinking.

An experienced team of senior consultants from CMTC and Columbus IT Partner will be presenting and providing solutions at the seminar. CMTC's Lean logistic consultants have over 16 years of experience in implementing Lean logistics principles in a variety of industries. Columbus IT Partner's consultants and programmers have over 15 years of experience implementing Microsoft Axapta.

Says Bradley Webster, Vice President of Sales for Columbus IT Partner, "Manufacturers must be able to streamline processes and attribute raw materials, inventory, and costs per given project accurately. Lean logistics and lean supply chain solutions inside an Enterprise Resource Planning system provide application capability that enables Lean practices while gaining the benefit of Enterprise Resource Planning. The agility and flexibility of Microsoft Axapta ERP is well suited to the Lean world."

James Watson, Vice President of Consulting Services for CMTC, says, "Today's marketplace calls for companies to be more responsive to ever-changing demands. Lean logistics focuses on the supply chain and helps companies streamline their operations beyond the four walls of manufacturing -- to transportation and delivery. Effective Lean logistics allows companies to elevate themselves to higher levels of service and customer satisfaction."

Seminar registration is $59 per person. This seminar is one-day only and space is limited -- so don't miss out! To register or obtain additional information contact CMTC at (800) 300-CMTC (2682) or register online at www.cmtc.com.
