NetSilicon Partners with FS Forth-Systeme for Development of Windows CE .NET Software Developers Kit on leading NET+ARM Processor

MINNETONKA, Minn. --(Business Wire)-- March 30, 2004 -- - Partnership enables NetSilicon customers to implement Windows CE-based applications on the NS9750 Microprocessor -

NetSilicon, a division of Digi International (NASDAQ:DGII), today announced a partnership with FS Forth-Systeme to develop a Windows CE .NET Software Developers Kit (SDK) for NetSilicon's NS9750 NET+ARM(R) microprocessor. The SDK will enable NetSilicon customers to quickly and easily implement embedded Microsoft Windows CE .NET applications on the NS9750.

Windows CE .NET has grown in popularity and is now being used beyond mobile handheld devices in network-attached applications, said Tim Counihan, vice president of marketing, NetSilicon. With this partnership, we're extending our ability to serve applications where Windows CE .NET is used such as embedded thin clients, data collection devices, digital cameras, smart phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs).

NetSilicon customers now have access to a Windows CE .NET SDK and its associated development tools on the company's high performance ARM9-based NS9750 processor. Based on the ARM926EJ-S core and integrating an Ethernet, LCD, USB, and PCI controller, the NS9750 provides the features, performance and integration necessary to easily implement embedded Windows CE .NET applications. NetSilicon's ARM-9 based NS9750 is the highest performance, most integrated NET+ARM processor available. The processor's MMU, USB, Ethernet, and LCD controllers make it an excellent Windows CE .NET target for customers developing in that environment.

While most of our customers opt for the royalty free NET+Works development kit for the fastest time to market and easiest development path, customers with significant experience and investment in Windows CE .NET can also now easily use the NS9750, Counihan added. FS Forth is recognized for their expertise with Windows CE .NET and has been a leader in the embedded space since the market's inception. We are pleased to extend our relationship with the company.

NetSilicon's NS9750 microprocessor is an outstanding tool for implementing embedded Windows CE .NET applications, said Klaus Flesch, CEO, FS Forth-Systeme. The chip provides the high level of performance and integration necessary to easily implement Windows CE .NET applications. NetSilicon is a leading developer of embedded device networking technologies and a valued long-term partner.
