Fashion In Motion: Mobile Meets Couture In E-Fashion Extravaganza

The cutting-edge, high-energy Fashion In Motion runway show returns to the CTIA stage for its fourth and most stunning strut yet! Found only at CTIA WIRELESS 2004, Fashion in Motion is not just another high-tech exhibit - it incorporates wireless Internet technology into fashion, lifestyle, health, and security applications! Fashion In Motion is the premier showcase for wearable wireless and Internet technology.



"Wireless technology has inspired new products and features in the technology, clothing and accessory industries and Fashion in Motion brings that all together. Models in this couture style runway show wear the latest in high fashion while displaying mobile devices demonstrating the hottest items on the market today as well as the most futuristic technology of tomorrow," said Steve Largent, President and CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA).

This year's Fashion In Motion stage will feature:
* Designs by Alexandra Fede - For the first time in the U.S., world-renowned designer Alexandra Fede, considered the first Scientific Fashion Designer specializing in applying research and technology to fashion, will showcase her latest creations, produced by Mario Boselli Holding. These collections are produced with para-aramidic fibers, technical fibers like polypropylene, microfilament of polyamide, nano-technology, and integrated microelectronics.


* Wearable wonders from the Topological Media Lab at Georgia Tech -Students from Georgia Tech's design group present garments whose textures of sound and light dance to the wearer's movement and gesture. TML's softwear garments use a broad spectrum of body-imaging and sensing technologies, from fiber optics to TinyOS wireless sensor platforms.

* Modish merchandise from BodyMedia, European Space Agency (ESA), Lightglove, Motorola, MicroOptical, MicroVision, Network Anatomy, Riva Networks, Tek Gear, Thinking Materials, Vectrasense, Vivometrics, and Xybernaut including:
o Alter Ego from Nokia - Snap a pic and hang it around your neck. This wearable display allows you to upload a color image and display on a daring steel choker necklace.

* Runway models draped in designs by - Daly Bain, Howe, JLO by Jennifer Lopez, martinMartin, Mhope, Phat Farm, Sheri Bodell, and Shay Todd.

Fashion In Motion runway shows will be performed Monday, March 22 through Wednesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (No 4:00 p.m. show on Wednesday).
