Rodopi Software and BroadSoft Inc. Team Up To Offer VoIP with Automated Back Office Functionality

Rodopi Software, an industry leader in new generation operations support system (OSS) and back office automation software, announced today the availability of an automated provisioning module for the BroadSoft® BroadWorks® network communication platform. The new provisioning module is designed to automate the process of signing up new residential and business customers online, activating their VoIP and other services in real-time, and performing fully automated back office functions including billing, payment processing and customer care. The Rodopi OSS platform is fully web-enabled and is available in both licensed and hosted formats. Existing and prospective Rodopi service provider customers now have access to the most flexible and cost effective turnkey solution to support the scalable deployment of BroadWorks-based services.

BroadSoft's BroadWorks provides a comprehensive range of applications including hosted PBX, IP Centrex, residential broadband, and the latest in collaborative conferencing fully integrated into a single network communications platform. The Rodopi OSS software suite interfaces to the BroadWorks platform. By doing so, VoIP network operators or resellers can offer enhanced applications with the requisite account management and billing functions to support a web-based, customer self-service model. For example, residential customers would be able to turn on and off, on their own, services such as call forwarding, screening and return, three-way calling and caller ID. With self-service capabilities, customers are spared waiting on hold for a customer representative and service providers keep costs down.

The first customer for Rodopis new provisioning module will be New Global Telecom (NGT), located in Golden, Colorado. NGT will begin offering the provisioning module as part of its turnkey 6DegreeIP suite of managed wholesale VoIP services in July of 2004. Other Rodopi customers, who presently connect to BroadWorks for billing only, will be able to implement the product in the same timeframe. NGT was instrumental in scoping the market opportunity for an integrated solution and has been a strong proponent through development of this joint Rodopi-BroadSoft capability.

Our experience in automating operational systems, and the market demand for a simple, turnkey approach to rolling out new VoIP services led us to team with BroadSoft, who is a clear market leader in VoIP application servers, said Todd Benjamin, president and CEO of Rodopi Software. Convergent service providers, and in particular wholesalers and their resellers, need an automated, out-of-the-box solution to quickly and cost effectively roll-out bundles of IP based services.

By functioning as an ASP, Rodopi is lowering the barrier to entry for service providers by transforming complex back-office integration processes into a fully automated offering that providers can buy or rent, said Scott Wharton, vice president, marketing at BroadSoft. Together, Rodopi and BroadSoft are making it easier and more cost-effective to roll out new and exciting VoIP applications so carriers of all sizes can focus on reaching out to new customers with the latest in VoIP enhanced services.

"The Rodopi-BroadSoft interface complements our 6DegreesIP service suite, and enables us to provide a one-stop shop for VoIP Network & OSS functionality," said Tim Bradley, senior vice president - VoIP Services for New Global Telecom. "This is exactly what many of our current sales prospects are looking for as it simplifies order entry, billing and service management."
