USA's First VoIP Retail Store to Open Featuring Twister Networks VoIP Products
IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- June 22, 2004 -- Twister Networks Inc. (Pink Sheets:TWTN) today announced that with one of its key U.S. distributors, the company is opening what is believed to be the country's first retail store dedicated solely to Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products and services.
Twister Networks provides VoIP Internet phone calling devices and services worldwide, with its primary markets targeted at Asia, the United States, and Europe.
The retail store is located in the Orange County, Calif. area in the town of Garden Grove, with a Grand Opening scheduled for July 7, 2004 at 10 a.m. The retail store will feature Twister Networks VoIP Internet phone models i100, i300, and i400, as well as the upcoming i350, which is scheduled for release in the next 30-60 days.
Bruce Thomsen, Twister Networks' CEO, commented: "This is believed to be the first retail store in the United States solely dedicated to VoIP products and services. Although this first retail opening serves as a test, we believe that there may be a great opportunity in assisting our dealers and distributors in retail operations.
"Twister's business model is to sell our VoIP Internet phones and services in lots of 500 to upwards of 25,000 at a time as we distribute our phones to dealers, distributors, and corporations worldwide. Assuming operations of this first store are successful, the company could pursue an additional distribution channel through these company-assisted retail stores which could potentially support the order sizes we are seeking."
