Patch Manager 3.2 Provides Graphical Reports, Adds Key Operating Enhancements

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. --(Business Wire)-- June 16, 2004 -- Ecora Software announces Patch Manager 3.2, the newest version of the firm's automated patch management solution. This upgraded version, available immediately, features complete Reporting Center functionality; a timesaving installation wizard; a user-friendly, searchable help function; and operating system support in eleven languages.

Ecora Reporting Center 1.1 is a core component of Patch Manager 3.2. As such, it offers bar chart, pie chart, and line graph options for viewing mission-critical details such as compliance with a security patch policy. Compliance reports summarize patching progress by all available patches or by specific patches, show percentage of compliance at a particular time or as a trend over time. Similarly, severity dynamics reports represent the installed state of all patches over time by severity levels: high, medium, low, and undetermined, and chart the number of patches available and installed or missing for each level of severity. Yet another report identifies missing patches ranked by severity on a per-host or on a per-patch basis.

"These reports," explains Dan Pratt, product program manager, "tell management exactly where the company is regarding security patches."

"Our new configuration wizard helps prospects succeed quickly with their trials by giving them the option to select a minimal install," Pratt adds. "Doing so allows them to get up and running quickly to launch their trial of the product. Experienced users will use the same wizard to install additional components such as Reporting Center and Repository."

In addition, Pratt continues, version 3.2 provides an upgraded online help system to support keyword searching. Further, there is now language support for Dutch, Danish, and Finnish Operating Systems, to accompany the previously announced support for Japanese, German, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Other operating enhancements include allowing users to right-click to select, unload, and delete scans from 3D Patch Views.
