Covad DSL Network Supports EarthLink's New, Faster Consumer Broadband Service

SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- June 9, 2004 -- EarthLink High Speed 3.0 Now Available to More than 16.5 Million Households in Covad's Nationwide Network

Covad Communications Group, Inc. (OTCBB:COVD), a leading national broadband service provider of high-speed Internet and network access, announced today that it is supporting the launch of the new EarthLink High Speed 3.0 service, which is up to 70 times faster than a standard dial-up connection based on the average speed between a 28.8k and 56k modem.



EarthLink High Speed 3.0 is a DSL service with speeds up to 3.0Mbps, designed to meet the bandwidth and speed demands of households. This new service will be available to more than 16.5 million households in select markets throughout Covad's network.

Existing EarthLink DSL customers who meet technical qualifications will be notified and automatically upgraded in June to EarthLink High Speed 3.0 for no additional fee or added commitment.
