YYireless1.NET Begins Beaming Wireless Broadband Internet Access Direct to Downtown Businesses from the top of the Gulf Tower
PITTSBURGH, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- YYireless1.NET has begun transmitting carrier-grade, wireless network service throughout downtown Pittsburgh from the 39th floor of the Gulf Tower. Businesses in the Golden Triangle can now receive custom-engineered, point-to-point and point-to-multi-point "fast Ethernet" last mile access and internet access services, at significantly lower costs than those charged by incumbent telephone or cable company carriers.
"We've engineered a state-of-the-art, fixed wireless network that provides businesses with secure network access at significantly lower costs," says Timothy J. Pisula, CEO of YYireless1.NET. "Not only can we deliver T-1 level (and higher) bandwidth, we can also upgrade existing customers to 8Mb of symmetrical bandwidth with a simple software change in our office. Businesses no longer have to face the high cost of installing fiber into their building or the long lead-times and delays they've experienced with phone company installations. We can install within 72 hours."
Businesses in the city where their buildings are in proximity of the Gulf Tower now have an alternative to consider when evaluating broadband carriers. Pisula explained, "Our network is industrial strength and is built to be impervious to atmospheric conditions such as rain or snow. Long-term customer satisfaction is our number one priority and we are very excited to bring our broadband value proposition to the downtown Pittsburgh (and vicinity) marketplace."
The company also offers their service as a disaster recovery solution because their network is engineered independent of the downtown telephone network and fiber optic rings. "If a fiber line is cut in downtown Pittsburgh, or other catastrophic failures occur in the downtown telephone network, our system is not impacted," Pisula says.
Specializing in the timely delivery of customized bandwidth solutions for the most challenging commercial applications, YYireless1.NET offers broadband services at speeds of 10 to 1,000 times faster than dial-up and supplies rapid downloads and uploads. The service improves productivity and efficiency in Voice over IP (VoIP) and Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications, sending and receiving large (photo or graphics) files as well as streaming video.
YYireless1.NET (pronounced "wireless one dot net") was founded by three former wireless telephone engineers with over 50 years of wireless network engineering experience. It operates using spectrum designated for broadband communications by the FCC in three radio spectrums-900 MHz for residential customers, 2.4 GHz for suburban applications and 5.3-5.8 GHz for high-density, commercial applications. The company also offers customer-engineered bandwidth and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) solutions from 256 Kbps to 500 Mbps.
Wireless broadband service is also available through YYireless1.NET in nine other locations -- Hampton Township, Indiana Township, the RIDC Park East, Donaldson's Crossroads, Hartwood Acres, Waterdam Plaza, Greentree, Carnegie and Southpointe. The company is ultimately planning to develop over 40 base station sites in and around Pittsburgh.
