Nuvio Corporation Files Comments with Federal Communications Commission Supporting Minimal Regulation of IP-Enabled Services

Nuvio Corporation, a leading provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), today announced that the company has filed official comments to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) supporting the Commissions efforts to establish a comprehensive, pro-competitive legal and regulatory framework for services and applications based on Internet Protocol (IP) standards.

Nuvio, along with other leading IP-service providers, filed comments with the FCC in accordance with the Commissions May 28, 2004 deadline.

This service has the unique capability of being transportable across state lines, said Jason Talley, president and CEO of Nuvio Corporation. A unified national regime needs to be adopted to prevent different regulations from each individual state. This would be overly cumbersome to providers and inhibit growth of IP-enabled services.
