Configuresoft Selects BIrdstep RDM Mobile - Number of numbers in MIME From exceeds maximum threshold

Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD) today announced Configuresoft’s selection of Birdstep’s RDM Mobile 3.0 database management system as the remote database agent for the Configuresoft Enterprise Configuration Management (ECM) suite. Birdstep’s RDM Mobile will be installed in the network server and workstations to record and administer device configuration information for network administration.

The Configuresoft ECM suite gathers tens of thousands of configuration variables from each server and workstation in a network and centralizes that data in an enterprise view. ECM enables administrators to correct most problems from a central console by providing access to the entire network. Taking control of configurations is crucial for maximizing system performance. Birdstep’s RDM Mobile provides Configuresoft with a data management solution that provides high availability and integrity without impacting the device system resources.

“We chose RDM Mobile 3.0 because it is ideal for our application and business needs. Our ECM product must provide the best performance, yet have accurate and highly available data across multiple platforms. RDM Mobile’s transaction and multithread support allowed us to create a reliable system over a broad range of platforms. Additionally, Birdstep’s policy of making source code available, gives us the platform independence we need to address our customers requirements,” explained Rob Mayer, Configuresoft Vice-President of Research and Development.

“Our customers pick us because we provide the best footprint, and highest performance and functionality. In spite of its extremely small footprint, RDM Mobile includes functionality that developers expect in larger, slower database management software. Mobile 3.0 is ideal for mobile workforce and distributed computing applications such as Configuresoft,” said Tom Clark, Birdstep Technology, Inc. CEO.
