Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson Announce the Nominees for AOL Television's 2004 'TV's Top 5 Viewer Awards' LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)-- July 14, 2004 -- Britney Spears Nominated for Best Cry and Sexiest Kiss; 'Friends,' 'Frasier,' 'Sex & the City' and Others Vie for Best Farewell MomentAOL(R) Television, the premier online destination for TV fans, today revealed the nominees for the 2004 TV's Top 5 Viewer Awards at a press conference held at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, judges in FOX's hit series "American Idol," presided. The TV's Top 5 Viewer Awards honor the best television moments of the past year in entertaining and unusual categories such as Best Farewell Moment, Most Memorable TV Moment, Most Teary Eyed Moment, Best Talk Show Moment, Revlon's Sexiest Kiss, and more. The nominated selections have all been featured on TV's Top 5, AOL Television's daily recap of the best five moments of the previous day based on feedback from AOL members, overnight data from TiVo and input from AOL Television's editors. Members can view these moments and then rate them on a scale of one to five. "American Idol" led the list with five nominations including Most Memorable Music Moment, Most Memorable Reality TV Moment, and Revlon's Sexiest Kiss Award. "Friends" came in second with four nominations, including Best Farewell Moment and Most Surprising Moment. Other shows leading the list of nominees included "The O.C." and "The Late Show with David Letterman." Overall, NBC led with 13 nominations, followed by FOX with 11 nominations, CBS with 9 nominations, ABC with 6 nominations and HBO and MTV with 3 nominations each. Beginning today, AOL(R) and AOL(R) for Broadband members across the country can cast their votes at AOL Keyword: TV Awards for their favorites in each category. Voting ends on September 10 and the winners will be announced on September 15, just days before the Primetime Emmy Awards on September 19.
