Visto Releases Third Generation Mobile Enterprise Server
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Visto Corporation (http://www.visto.com/), the leading global provider of personal and corporate wireless email and PIM solutions to mobile operators for the broadest set of mobile device platforms, announced today the release of its enhanced third generation Visto Mobile(TM) Enterprise Server. As an important component of the Visto Mobile platform announced on June 15, Visto Mobile Enterprise Server 3.5 provides a number of important enhancements requested by mobile operators, their enterprise customers, and industry analysts, including: over-the-air (OTA) synchronization of calendar and contacts, fast and continuous IP-based push of email and personal information management (PIM) data, and support for both Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino servers.
"Visto Mobile Enterprise Server offers the features mobile enterprises are demanding: an affordable, hosted service available from their wireless operator that supports multiple devices and works over all popular wireless operator networks," said Gene Signorini, Analyst for Yankee Group. "Visto has been lining up an impressive set of new functionality with the Visto Mobile Platform."
Visto Mobile Enterprise Server is a third generation mobile email/PIM solution from Visto providing corporate email for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino collaboration servers. Keeping with Visto's market leading broad device support, Visto Mobile Enterprise Server works with popular corporate devices like: Symbian OS based Nokia 6600 and Sony Ericsson P800/P900; Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone and Pocket PC Phone Edition devices; Palm OS based Treo 600; and J2ME MIDP 2.0 based Motorola V600. Broad device support, coupled with support for the native device application is key to ensuring ease of use and minimizing training and support costs for enterprise customers.
Taking advantage of the GPRS, CDMA/1xRTT, CDMA 2000 and WCDMA networks used by its ten wireless operator customers worldwide, Visto provides continuously synchronized, IP-based push email to smartphones. Corporate users can receive and send email on their device without user intervention and messages remain constantly synchronized to the desktop.
"No other mobile email solution provider has such a feature-rich, IP-push solution as Visto: we offer both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino server support, broad device platform support for all the popular mobile phones, and distribution through 10 wireless operators worldwide. No other provider even comes close," said Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto.
Visto Mobile Enterprise Server is available today through wireless operators worldwide or directly from Visto. IT managers can install, configure and deploy the solution system wide in under 30 minutes.
