Vapps’ VoIP Conferencing Bridge Lowers Costs, Provides Flexibility for Conference Service Providers and Telcos Vapps released its VoIP-based Conferencing Bridge 1000 for service providers and telcos that provide reservationless conferencing services. This SIP-enabled, carrier-grade, DSP-based conferencing bridge supports up to 600 talkers in one chassis and 12,000 total participants in multiple simultaneous conferences across multiple chassis, can be customized to suit users’ needs, and allows capacity to be purchased on a card-by-card basis at a fraction of the cost of buying an entire system. The Vapps CB1000 is a modular software and hardware solution that provides reliable and continuously provisioned conference calls using Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies. The product uses industry standards like SIP and Linux and off-the-shelf hardware platforms to achieve high reliability, availability, scalability, and voice quality. The product can scale across cPCI hardware chassis and DSP cards to effectively expand or replace proprietary “pig-iron” systems. It can also be programmed to match existing call flows and touch tone commands and authenticate to pre-existing environments via ODBC and XML, permitting fast and cost-effective deployment of additional conferencing ports while eliminating the need to change the user experience or authentication methods. “The Vapps CB1000 leverages the best of IP and TDM technologies to provide a feature-rich and attractively priced reservationless bridge for service providers to provision business-class conferencing,” said David Alexander, Telecommunications Industry Analyst, at market research firm Frost and Sullivan. The product offers 99.995 percent uptime and includes industry-standard features such as echo cancellation, automatic gain control, dial-out to remote participants, dynamic participant count, broadcast/lecture mode, conference lock/unlock, on-the-fly recording, and a customizable user web interface. It supports remote management, traditional touchtone controls, multi-language IVR and in-conference operator support. It also provides call detail record (CDR) logging which can be written directly to an existing billing system. |
