Chinese Sky Light Selected LocatioNet for LBS Service Delivery Engine, Geo Toolbox, and Applications

SHANGHAI, China. --(Business Wire)-- July 12, 2004 -- Sky Light Communication Ltd. and LocatioNet Systems Ltd. announced today their agreement to introduce advanced location-based services (LBS) in the Chinese wireless market. According to the agreement, LocatioNet will provide Sky Light with its LBS Middleware, Geo Toolbox, and two of its LBS applications: MyMap and Fleet & Workforce management. The two companies will join forces in the creation and integration of the LBS solutions with the local Chinese mobile operators.



Sky Light Communication Ltd. is a new Chinese Joint Venture formed by LIESMARS (a well known reputable Chinese Government-owned GIS institution) and Sky Light Communications (a subsidiary of the Shougang Group and the Cheng Kong conglomerate). Sky Light intends to offer to the Chinese mobile operators a rich set of LBS applications based on the comprehensive Chinese GIS content collected by LIESMARS. The LocatioNet middleware and Geo Toolbox will be used by Sky Light as the service delivery platform.

The LocatioNet development tools, available over the LocatioNet system, will assist Sky Light to become a GIS broker for its high-quality Chinese GIS content, to local mobile application developers. These developers will benefit from a ready-made powerful LBS function-set, shortening time to market.

LocatioNet formed a local representation in Shanghai, headed by Mr. Light Zhou that has been able to quickly match the technological superiority of LocatioNet with the appropriate leading Chinese partners.
