Community-Based Web Portal Service From LocalToolbox Now Available To National Cable Television Cooperative Members

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- July 7, 2004 -- LocalToolbox Corporation, the leading provider of community-based web portals for the cable television industry, announced today an agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) to offer LocalToolbox's web portal services at a specialized rate to its membership base.

LocalToolbox has been providing localized web portals, featuring unique local content, since 1998 to cable operators throughout the U.S. covering more than 350 distinct communities today. According to James Robbins, President and CEO of LocalToolbox, "Several NCTC members including Mediacom Communications and Bresnan Communications are already utilizing the company's web portal services."

"LocalToolbox is a proven web portal provider, as some of our members can already attest to, so we are pleased to be able to offer their services to the entire membership base," said Dan Mulvenon, NCTC Vice-President of Member Services. "In this competitive landscape, offering a community-based portal service will support operators in their efforts to maintain a local presence and build customer loyalty."

Through the services provided by LocalToolbox, cable operators can offer their entire community, not just their customer base, an Internet destination that features national information including news, weather and TV listings, in addition to unique local content, created by local groups and organizations, that can drive loyalty and generate incremental revenues. LocalToolbox specializes in helping their cable operator partners establish relationships with local content providers to ensure the web portal is enriching to the visitor and a business opportunity for the operator. The operator-branded portal created through LocalToolbox can also serve as the start page for the operator's broadband customers. And, once created, the portal is easy to update, keeping the content fresh so visitors keep coming back.
