Charles River Proteomics Adopt Nonlinear Dynamics' Progenesis Discovery Informatics

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, England, and WORCESTER, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- July 1, 2004 -- Nonlinear Dynamics, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, today announced that Charles River Proteomics Services, Inc., (CRPS) has adopted Nonlinear's Progenesis Discovery Informatics platform to support the gel-based component of its proteomic service offering.

Building on the well-established Progenesis range, Progenesis Discovery Informatics is the leading edge proteomics solution for automated high-throughput gel analysis, data mining and support of lab based research. The informatics module provides additional functionality to store, link and track huge quantities of gel-based proteomic data. It has a range of statistical features which generate complex expression and standard queries via a simple interface. Enhanced processing features identify statistically significant changes in protein expression derived from multiple experiments.

Dr. James Jersey, President of CRPS, said, "Our goal is to help clients improve and accelerate their drug discovery and development processes through a greater understanding of biology at the protein level. It is essential in our 2DE efforts for CRPS to have tools that provide ease of use, automation, excellent data visualization, accuracy, and, statistically objective based measures of differential expression requiring minimal intervention."

Dr. John Pirro, General Manager of CRPS, adds further, "Due to the high throughput of our 2DE services, CRPS and our clients require the most comprehensive solution with the flexibility to accommodate large sample sets across projects. Progenesis Discovery Informatics provides this complete solution."

John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director of Nonlinear Dynamics, and CEO of Nonlinear USA Inc., said "CRPS has an excellent professional standing in the proteomics marketplace, and we are delighted they have chosen to adopt Progenesis Discovery Informatics. Nonlinear is committed to developing solutions that lead the market in terms of throughput, accuracy and reproducibility. We believe Progenesis Discovery Informatics delivers the complete protein informatics solution that gives service providers and their clients a positive edge in the quality and consistency of gel-based research."
