Avotus Hosted Solution Passes Milestone - Manages Over 1,800 Sites/500,000 Lines

Avotus(TM) Corporation's hosted communications management solution now provides services to over 1,800 customer sites worldwide supporting almost one-half million communication lines and devices.

Avotus' hosted solution is an Internet-based communication management offering that remotely monitors customers' networks to manage communications expenses, infrastructure and usage. The Avotus hosted solution offers the full complement of management tools of Avotus' recently announced Intelligent Communications Management(TM) (ICM), a breakthrough solution for integrating, analyzing and processing communications information and invoices in order to better control expenses, infrastructure and usage.

Through the hosted environment, customers are able to implement Avotus communications management functions without the system hardware, software and administrative costs they would incur if they installed and maintained the solution at their own locations. Since the software is running in a hosted environment, customers have access to the latest version of software without having to purchase software upgrades.

The Avotus hosted solution offers simple and secure access to critical communications information reports, as well as ad hoc queries, via the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It enables customers to view voice and data reports, track service orders and trouble tickets, update directory information and perform every communications management task using the ICM framework.

Many organizations find that it is more cost effective and efficient to turn to a hosted approach. "For medium and large enterprises, communications systems are one of the top expenses so they deserve the same oversight as other key infrastructure investments," said Alan Gold, Avotus senior vice president of marketing and corporate strategy. "Avotus allows our customers at over 1,800 sites to concentrate on their core businesses and turn to us to effectively manage their telecommunications environment. This helps them save money on their current data and voice communications costs, better understand their asset utilization and improve communications planning for future investments. Depending on customer need, we can even handle their day-to-day moves, adds and changes, as well as manage their vendor relationships."

Banks, logistics (express mail) companies, power generation and distribution providers, government agencies, schools and colleges, and publishers have outsourced their communications expense, infrastructure and usage management using Avotus hosted services.

Avotus Intelligent Communications Management addresses three major communications components:

Avotus Expense Management - automatically validates every communications invoice to help assure accurate data communications, traditional long distance and local services, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), wireless and other technologies' communications invoicing. It eliminates overpayments, manages complex contracts, rate plans and billings, and helps audit the accuracy of carrier service inventory. ICM helps assure that customers are paying only for the services they need and use, at the rates they contracted, and for the appropriate time frames. This empowers users to negotiate better contractual agreements.

Avotus Infrastructure Management - optimizes provisioning, integrates complex and changing technologies, and enhances security. It manages the order creation and approval process to reduce errors and minimize MAC (moves, adds, changes) costs. An accurate and detailed network-wide view of bandwidth utilization and voice and data traffic helps managers provide the highest service without over-investing. Infrastructure Management also provides security by identifying misuse and abuse, toll fraud and unusual calling patterns.

Avotus Usage Management - heightens visibility, increases accountability and reduces administrative burden by collecting information from carriers and other communications suppliers via automatic feeds. This adds controls for currently untracked usage from mobile phones, pagers, personal data assistants (PDAs), calling cards and conferencing services by creating a consolidated and aggregated view. It identifies underused and misused communications methods and services. It quickly and efficiently identifies system bottlenecks and misuse, as well as accurately allocates costs to divisions, departments, users or projects.
