Start-up Inflexion Communications Deploying VoIP In City Revitalization

Dwayne Goldsmith, CEO, Inflexion Communications announced the XtendIP Program and its first customer. The XtendIP Program works with cities to implement VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) solutions and applies the savings towards revitalization projects.

"Everyone understands the importance of investing in transportation infrastructure for attracting businesses and jobs. The XtendIP Program achieves the same outcome by using the cost savings from VoIP deployments as a seed investment in communication infrastructure."

Inflexion focuses on markets where telephone density falls below the national average. Inflexion Communication's FlexIP Product Portfolio makes it possible to displace traditional telephone service obtained from incumbent local exchange companies like Verizon, SBC, and BellSouth.
Inflexion uses broadband-enabled VoIP to compete with the Bell companies in the same way MCI used the arrival of microwave transport to compete with
AT&T more than 30 years ago. "The XtendIP Program addresses the shortage
of funds for bringing communication solutions to underserved areas through the newly emerged technology of VoIP," said Goldsmith.

"Implementing VoIP with Inflexion fits exactly with the mission of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation," said George Jackson President and CEO, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. "The scarcity of resources requires creative thinking, but the challenge remains to provide opportunities for citizens and making Detroit as attractive as possible for companies looking to expand or relocate."
