CoreMedia Presents UMTS Enabled DRM Solution for True Tones, Music Tracks, Videos and Pictures

At the 3GSM WorldCongress, which starts on Monday in Cannes, France, CoreMedia, the leading provider of Smart Content Technology, will present an exclusive live demo of its UMTS enabled mobile digital rights management (DRM) solution, which is based on the Open Mobile Alliance’s (OMA) DRM specifications.

At the IBM booth in Hall 1 (area C1), CoreMedia, a global IBM partner, will give an exclusive demonstration of rich media content delivery to UMTS devices, showing music and videos of four-time Grammy winner OutKast and Pink. The tracks are copyright protected with CoreMedia’s DRM solution, which includes all functionalities of the OMA DRM definitions, including Forward Lock, Combined Delivery, Separate Delivery, and Super-Distribution.

CoreMedia’s mobile DRM solution enables mobile operators to embrace new business opportunities and increase their average revenue per user (ARPU) by delivering higher quality, valuable content – including true tones, music tracks, videos and pictures - to subscribers in protected format. The solution also stimulates wireless viral marketing by allowing legal super-distribution, turning subscribers into distributors of content and thereby generating new revenues from content as well as driving data usage.

The CoreMedia DRM solution provides the following elements in a server-side architecture:

- Ingest Portal

- License Server

- Packaging Server

- Transaction Server

- Content server
