Ingate And Broadsoft Develop Interoperable Solution To Deliver VoIP Applications To Firewall-Protected Enterprises

Ingate Systems (www.ingate.com), a supplier of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-capable enterprise firewalls, announced today that Ingate and BroadSoft Inc., the leading provider of network communication platforms, have completed interoperability testing to provide an end-to-end solution for enterprises supporting the latest in network-based hosted IP Centrex applications. Simplifying the migration to IP Voice, the Ingate/BroadSoft solution delivers a cost-effective, flexible means of bringing hosted VoIP applications to any enterprise quickly and efficiently.

Ingate Firewall® and award-winning Ingate SIParator® products were provided for the interoperability testing. Most enterprise firewalls block VoIP calls forcing companies to choose between security and advanced voice services. The Ingate Firewall and SIParator solve this problem by seamlessly enabling the traversal of SIP communications across a network firewall. BroadSoft included its leading network communication platform, BroadWorks®, which offers a comprehensive range of applications including hosted PBX, IP Centrex, residential broadband and collaborative conferencing.

The Ingate/BroadWorks solution is based on SIP, the standard protocol for realtime communications applications such as VoIP, instant messaging, presence and a host of person-to-person applications.

BroadSofts hosted IP Centrex application delivers voice features to enterprises looking to outsource a cost-effective communications solution. As a hosted PBX application, BroadWorks provides the feature-functionality of a PBX with the deployment flexibility and reduced total cost of ownership of a hosted solution. Ingates Firewall and SIParator products make the transition to IP Voice even easier by serving as CPE session border controllers that allow any network to become SIP-enabled and thereby able to utilize VoIP applications with the addition of one piece of hardware. Ingates SIParator offers these benefits without requiring the replacement of an existing firewall, and is compatible with any enterprise firewall.

"Interoperability with leading providers like BroadSoft demonstrates our commitment to provide tested, market-proven solutions to our enterprise customers, said Olle Westerberg, Chief Executive Officer, Ingate Systems. Businesses of every size are quickly realizing the necessity of leveraging SIP-based realtime applications to remain competitive. Together, BroadSoft and Ingate provide a truly end-to-end solution for any company migrating to SIP.

The pre-tested Ingate/BroadSoft solution gives enterprises even greater flexibility to quickly and cost-effectively deploy the latest in network communications applications with the security and reliability they need, said Scott Wharton, vice president, marketing at BroadSoft. Interoperability with Ingate expands BroadSofts portfolio of CPE products that support a complete range of hosted VoIP applications.
