NewMarket Technology Inc. Announces Plans for $6 - $7 Million in Revenue from RFID Solutions in 2005

DALLAS --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 28, 2004 -- Company Anticipates RFID Industry Development and Definition in 2005 Marked Primarily by Pilot Projects

NewMarket Technology Inc. (OTCBB: NMKT) today announced 2005 plans for their proprietary Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Software product to include a forecast of $6 - $7 million in revenue from the sale and integration of their RFID solution. This announcement is part of a recent and ongoing communication effort to outline in detail the Company's overall business plan in 2005.

NewMarket's Plans For $6 - $7 Million in 2005 Revenue from RFID

NewMarket acquired a proprietary software solution with specific application in the growing RFID market. The software solution has been licensed and customized in 2004 in a variety of pilot projects. The Company has received a provisional patent on one customized variation of the proprietary solution. Based on the Company's experience in 2004, management has forecasted $6 - $7 million in revenue in 2005 from the sale and integration of the Company's proprietary software.

RFID Industry Outlook in 2005

In 2004 Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) announced that Wal-Mart suppliers will be required to comply with the retailers RFID Standards in 2005. "Most of the recent excitement in the RFID industry has been driven by Wal-Mart's announced RFID requirement for their suppliers to comply with in 2005," commented Philip Verges, CEO of NewMarket. "Interestingly, the core RFID technology is an established and stable technology. The emerging technology opportunity resides in the software and hardware peripheral solutions that must be created to meet recent interest in RFID solution such as inventory control and shipping container management. Such peripheral RFID industry solutions and standards will not be established in just one year. We foresee another year of development and definition in 2005. We anticipate our revenue in the RFID market to be derived primarily from pilot projects involving the licensing and integration of our proprietary RFID middleware. Based on our success to date with the pilot implementations we have executed in 2004, along with our business activity pipeline, we are confident in the prospects of our technology to be recognized as a leading solution in the emerging RFID market."
