Allstream Earns HP Linux Elite Partner Designation

TORONTO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Allstream, one of Canada's leading communication solutions providers, today announced that it has achieved the prestigious status of HP Linux Elite Partner -- making it one of a select group of companies in Canada to receive this designation. The designation signifies that Allstream's IT Services division has established expertise in UNIX and Linux environments and recognizes its ability to deliver high quality, robust solutions to its customers.

"We are thrilled with our new status as an HP Linux Elite Partner," said Dean Prevost, Executive Vice-President & President, IT Services. "The Elite designation is a competitive advantage for us. It offers a means for recognition, differentiation and growth. It also provides Allstream with additional credibility in the marketplace and we will be able to leverage our leadership position as a strategic and trusted advisor in offering innovative solutions in the IT Services space."
HP Linux Elite program membership is by invitation only and is one of HP's highest levels of recognizing partner expertise in front of customers. Considerations for membership include:
- Partner certification status;
- Customer satisfaction history;
- Demonstrated expertise in the area of specialization (Linux); and
- Clear business focus.

Allstream successfully met all comprehensive requirements and now joins a select group of HP Canada authorized resellers with this designation.
"Allstream is recognized as an experienced solution provider in the industry," said Heather Kent, manager of Partner Development and Programs, HP. "Their ability to comprehend and deliver sound business solutions is precisely what customers demand from HP's Elite Partners. This status is HP's validation of their ability to provide customers with industry-leading solutions."
Allstream has already demonstrated its expertise in Linux solutions with the Calgary Parking Authority.
"Allstream continues to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to providing innovative products and services," said Dale Fraser, General Manager, Calgary Parking Authority. "Their commitment to Linux as the foundation for highly available business applications has enabled the Parking Authority to exceed business goals and provide our customers robust and cost effective solutions. Allstream's status as an HP Linux Elite Partner speaks to their dedication to emerging technologies in the marketplace."
Elite memberships are evaluated on an annual basis. Once renewed, membership remains for another 12 months provided the partner continues to fulfill the expectations and considerations under the program. Allstream is committed to this status to ensure customers continue to have access to credible resources.
Allstream IT Services recently combined with Qunara, the IT Services division for MTS, to create a stronger and more powerful Allstream IT Services organization that is now one of the top ten IT Services players in the Canadian marketplace with 750 employees.
