T-Mobile & Accor Hotels launch Wi-Fi

Accor’s Red Roof Inn becomes the newest venue partner to join T-Mobile's growing network of nationally recognized brands offering the T-Mobile HotSpot wireless broadband service. T-Mobile HotSpot, the wireless broadband unit of T-Mobile USA, will provide Red Roof Inn with common area and guest room access to the largest carrier-owned, commercial-grade Wi-Fi network in the United States, as well as industry leading service quality and reliability, customer support and innovative features from a brand known worldwide.

The Red Roof Inn announcement further expands the important role that T-Mobile HotSpot plays within the mobile professional’s evolving work style. From mornings at Starbucks to evenings at Red Roof Inn, and with thousands of T-Mobile HotSpot locations in between, today’s business travelers can weave wireless broadband into the fabric of their everyday lives. The growing T-Mobile HotSpot Network in the U.S., when combined with T-Mobile international affiliate locations, allows for wireless broadband access at over 7,000 locations worldwide.

Red Roof Inn’s addition of T-Mobile HotSpot service is part of the chain’s overall strategy to reinvent the brand and upgrade the customer experience. The cornerstone of Red Roof Inn’s reinvention is a $200 million national renovation program, commitment to guest service and a new, redesigned logo to reflect the brand’s numerous enhancements. Wi-Fi service combined with the completely revamped guest rooms and lobbies broadens Red Roof Inn’s appeal to business travelers. Interiors will now have a contemporary, European-inspired look along with new design elements like an ergonomic, executive-style work chair, L-shaped desk and built-in microwave and refrigerator in Business King rooms to provide comfort and convenience to mobile business professionals.

In addition to providing guests with a premium, reliable Wi-Fi service, Red Roof Inn realizes that network security is also high on the wish lists of their business travelers and corporate I.T. managers. One of the many reasons Red Roof Inn selected T-Mobile was its industry leadership with respect to supporting customers’ security solutions such as corporate virtual private networks and personal firewalls. This leadership position will be further enhanced with the planned launch of the 802.1x security protocol across the entire T-Mobile HotSpot network.

“Partnering with industry leader T-Mobile is a perfect example of how we are reinventing Red Roof Inn to provide more value to business travelers. T-Mobile HotSpot service will help our guests stay connected on the road and accomplish their busy to-do lists in a fast and reliable way,” said Joe Wheeling, chief operating officer for Red Roof Inn.

Today’s announcement to make Wi-Fi service available in Red Roof Inns supports T-Mobile’s efforts to afford business travelers the freedom to stay connected at the places they already go. Mobile professionals will now be able to have high-speed access to email, the Internet and corporate intranets with a premium wireless broadband service.

“Our customers know they can easily find a wireless broadband connection in all the places they already go as part of their daily lives. The addition of Red Roof Inn to the T-Mobile HotSpot network enables us to further extend our Get More® promise to the mobile professional – whether they want coffee, copies or affordable accommodations, we'll keep them connected to what matters most, " said Joe Sims, vice president and general manager for T-Mobile HotSpot. “We believe our partnership will compliment each other’s offerings and add new customers to both businesses.”
