Solcara makes its case to the legal profession for its knowledge management and enterprise search solutions

London, 20 August 2004 - Solcara, the highly innovative UK-based information management software and solutions company has established a significant customer base for its knowledge management and search solutions amongst the legal profession and today announces that leading UK law firm, Macfarlanes has engaged Solcara to implement its innovative SolSearch solution.



Accessing the diverse information resources required by modern law firms can be a time consuming and difficult task. Solcara SolSearch is designed to support fee earners by enabling them to quickly find relevant information, regardless of format, location or source. The solution that Solcara offers is the first of its kind within the legal sector in that it streamlines and simplifies access to all essential internal and online information resources.

When the software is fully implemented, Macfarlanes should benefit significantly from Solcara's solution, which aims to improve the effectiveness of users who need to assimilate information from a number of internal and online sources. Solcara�s SolSearch technology is a first in that it supports integrated searching of all of a firm�s information resources, including internal sources such as Document Management, Know How, and Library systems as well as supporting searching of online subscription services and free sources of information such as government and public body web sites.



Solcara�s SolSearch technology is capable of searching these diverse information resources without the need to index or manage the content directly. It makes existing systems more accessible and provides a contextual basis for search results irrespective of their source. It can also be deployed quickly and integrated into any existing intranet.
